Frequently Asked
Before You Contact Geoff
Can I visit the Chapel?
Yes. That is broadly the idea. Please check the Visit page first so that nobody has to say “you should have checked the Visit page” in person.
Is the Chapel open today?
If it is open, the website will say so. If the website says it is open and it is not, then circumstances have overtaken the website, as they often do.
Where should I park?
In the car park. This answer has been made short in the hope that it may finally be read.
Can I park by the gate if I’m only five minutes?
No. Many of the longest-running local difficulties began as “only five minutes”.
Is there disabled access?
Access is being reviewed. The Chapel was not built with modern accessibility in mind.
Can I bring children?
Yes, provided they are supervised and do not touch anything.
Is the Chapel heated?
Visitors should dress for a building that is colder inside than out.
Can I book the Chapel for an event?
Possibly. Please give full details, including date, numbers, purpose and whether you expect me to do anything to help.
Can I take photographs?
Yes, for personal use only. Please do not move objects to improve the composition.
Can I donate archive material?
Yes. Please contact the Caretaker first. Do not push envelopes, photographs, or “interesting old bits” under the door. That system has been trialled and found wanting.
Who maintains the website?
I do, Geoff Thomas.
Can I correct something on the website?
Yes. Please send the correction politely, with evidence if available.
Can I help?
Yes. Sensible offers of help are welcome. Offers involving ladders, petrol tools, or “my mate can get a van” may be subject to additional scrutiny.
