Increased use of website
The Chapel website will now be used more regularly for notices, visitor information, service announcements, records, corrections to records, and any other matters which do not require the display of laminated posters.
The website was first started in 1997 by Simon, who is thanked for his service. Owing to pressure of other commitments over the last thirty years, Simon was rarely able to keep it updated, and has estimated his annual contribution at “about twenty minutes, if that.” This is accepted as broadly consistent with the condition in which the website was recently found.
Following successful attendance at a course titled Computers for the Over 60s, I have now taken over the day-to-day running of the site.
Visitors may therefore expect more frequent updates, clearer opening information, improved publication of notices, and a more efficient arrangement for finding out what has been cancelled before arriving. It is hoped that the website will become a proper digital home for the Chapel: accurate, welcoming, useful, and not dependent on Simon finding a space in his busy calendar.
Members of the congregation are encouraged to check the website regularly, particularly before services so you will know what is planned.
