Opportunities at the Chapel

Vacancies

The Chapel invites expressions of interest from anyone wishing to contribute to the website. If there are multiple vacancies listed, please state which position you are applying for. General offers to take charge of everything will require clarification.

Before you apply

This is a real invitation to make unpaid, creative contributions in our world. It is not a paid job opening. There are no required hours or posting quotas, and you can stop contributing at any time. No travel, accommodation or on-site duties are involved. Please remember Tin Chapel is a fictional entertainment website.

At the moment we are concentrating on recruiting club leaders. You can set its direction but are asked to keep it in world. Geoff gets to review and approve all posts before publication. Contributions are limited to club area only; it does not provide control of other sections or permission to publish independently.

Sports Correspondent

Develop the Chapel Sports Desk with match reports, fixtures and results, sports news and considered opinion. An interest in sport is essential; agreement with every refereeing decision is not. We may recruit multiple contributors for each club. So if you only want to manage the football team then that will work too.

What you could contribute

  • Write original sports reports and commentary.
  • Develop characters and keep building our world.
  • Bring ideas for future coverage and help give the desk a recognisable voice.
  • Get invited to the fictional TinChapel-staff Christmas Party.

What to send

Tell us which sports you follow and include a sample of your writing, if you have one.

How to apply

Email me with the role title you are interested in, your preferred name, a short introduction and your ideas for the club. You do not need to send a formal CV, home address or identity documents; but a decent sample post will go in your favour.

Before your first contribution, we will agree the scope, public credit and permission to edit and display your work.
