Purchase of domain name for chapel website.
Following recent discussions, it was agreed that the Chapel should obtain an address on the Internet, sometimes referred to as the World Wide Web (www), so that basic information may, in due course, be made available to persons using home computers. Our good friend Simon has just invested in a personal computer (a 386i) and has offered to help us with this endeavour.
Our preferred address was thechapelofstletussalata.com, however it was obviously already been taken by another party. It was therefore agreed to proceed with our next choice, tinchapel.com, which describes the chapel better and may in fact be easier for members of the public to type into the search box.
The www address has now been purchased.
It is understood that a website itself is not included automatically and will need to be arranged separately by means of hosting, server space, or a similar engineering solution. Simon will investigate this and speak to someone who knows how to place words and photographs on the page.
